PCI Serves Up Advice At Anglo International Breakfast Morning 

Anglo International Ceramics Ltd of Worsley, Manchester and tile adhesive and grout manufacturer PCI, part of the BASF Group, have been catering for tile fixers with an open breakfast morning for the trade. Product demonstrations, group and individual discussions enabled local fixers to familiarise themselves with PCI products and PCI representatives were on hand to answer questions.

The October event, run by John Thompson of PCI Technical Services and supported by Andrew Walker and Michelle Costigan, included installing a PCI Pecidur and PCI Pecibord shower display and wetroom using PCI Lastogum X, with adhesive demos showcasing the PCI Nanolight range. Ancillary products from tile cutters to cleaners and sealers also featured.

Said Steve Harrison of Anglo International, “The event was a huge success, increasing sales immediately on products like PCI Nanolight and Pecilastic.”

PCI’s John Thompson commented, “The breakfast meeting format is really informal and a great way for our technical and sales staff to support stockists and meet existing and potential customers over a cup of tea and a bacon butty.”

The trade morning is the result of a developing business relationship between PCI and Anglo International Ceramics Ltd, owned by Richard Lines and Steve Harrison, who between them have over 50 years’ experience in the tile industry. They formed the business in 2005 and moved to existing premises in Worsley, Manchester in November 2006. Having a background in dealing with the trade, they were keen to set up a thriving trade-counter business within the showroom and distribution depot and recognised the need for a variety of tile ranges from both UK and European sources, backed up by an adhesive the trade would recognise.

Steve explained: “As a new company it was important to find a good-quality, proven brand of adhesive that the trade would be willing to change to if they had the opportunity. PCI ticked all the boxes in terms of quality and had a broad spectrum of products to cover any tiling requirement. We became a main stockist of PCI in January 2007 and believe it has been a contributing factor in the growth of the trade-counter business to local tile fixers.”
